Mr. Gary Adair, 77, of Rome passed away on Tuesday, Oct 4th, 2016 in Deerfield Beach, Fl.

Born November 23, 1938 in Sylacauga, Alabama, he was the son of the late Harold Adair and the late Alline Adair. Gary was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church of Rome. In addition, he was a fireman in the Rome Fire Department and moved on to become a Georgia State Fire Marshall where he retired in 2000. He was able to enjoy several years after retirement with the love his life Linda Martin Adair, who passed away in 2009. He served in the US Air Force as well from 1960 – 1964.

Survivors include his daughter Rhonda Adair who resides in Deerfield Beach, Fl and his son, Greg Adair who resides in Orlando, Fl. He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren Savannah, Taylor, Caleb and Rachel and his 3 great grandchildren Addison, C.J. and Luke as well as his sister Debra Colston and brother, Ken Adair.

Friends will be received at Oaknoll Memorial Chapel in Rome from 7 PM – 9 PM on Friday, October 7, 2016. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 11 AM at Oaknoll Memorial Chapel with The Reverend Keith Willard officiating. The burial will be held immediately afterwards at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Shanklin- Attaway Post 5 of the American Legion will have charge of Military Graveside Rites.
