Myron DeForth, 86, Milan, died Thursday, Jan. 13, at Memorial Health Center in Medford.

Myron DeForth was born June 2, 1918, in Thorp. He graduated from Thorp High School.

He married Irene Zwicky, who preceded him in death April 6, 1994.

He worked as a cheesemaker in Somerset. In 1954, moved to Edgar where he worked for the Edgar Cheese Factory. The family moved to Bismarck, N.D., in 1958 where he worked as a cheesemaker until returning to Owen in 1962.

He moved to his hobby farm in Milan in 1967 where he currently resided.

He liked to help with transportation of the local Amish and Mennonite Communities. He enjoyed making rock crafts with his friend and partner, Vidella Durkee.

Myron is survived by one son, Gary DeForth of Dorchester; a brother, Roman DeForth of Norman, Okla.; special friends, Wade and Joan Knight and their children, Roger, Aaron, and Christina and Cliff Jensen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Irene; and an infant sister, Irene.

Funeral services were Saturday, Jan. 15, at Abbotsford Evangelical Free Church with the Rev. Bruce Janke officiating. Burial was in Sylvan Cemetery in the Town of Reseburg, Clark County.
