Magdalena Valentine was born in the Creagerstown District of Frederick County, Maryland, December 17, 1798, the daughter of Jacob and Anna Maria Freeze Valentine. She was a twin sister to Henry Valentine. On April 15, 1820, in Frederick County, to Jacob Firor, son of Henry and Anna Maria Weigle Firor. THey were the parents of 7 children: Victor Milton, Sylvester Valentine, Anna Louise, Mary Amanda, infant, William Albert and Josiah Edwin Firor. After the death of Jacob Firor in 1865, Magdalena moved to Jefferson County, West Virginia, likely to live with one of her children. She passed away there on February 29, 1876, and was buried in Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town, Jefferson County, West Virginia.

"On 29th ult., Mrs. Magdalena Firor, widow of the late Jacob Firor, of Circleville, died at Charlestown, West Virginia, of apoplexy, aged 77 years, 2 months and 15 days. She was a paralytic for five and a half years, before her death."
