Survivors are: her husband, Dale Eddy of Grand Island; son, Kenneth Schroeder of Lincoln; daughter, Patty Chavez of Cedartown, Ga.; stepsons and stepdaughter-in-law, Dale and Carla Eddy of Archer and Stephen Eddy of Grand Island; stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Wanda and Jim Parker of Central City and Susan and Baird Sauter of Palmer; sisters, Vivian Pope of California and Waunda Wicht of Gibbon; seven grandchildren, 17 stepgrandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Charlotte grew up near and attended school in Shelton graduating from Shelton High School in 1942. She taught country school for several years following her education. She married Ernest Schroeder on May 20, 1944, at Hastings. They made their home in Doniphan. Ernest died on Dec. 2, 1964. In the early 1970's, Charlotte moved to Grand Island.
She met Dale Eddy, and they were married on Oct. 17, 1982, at Grand Island. Charlotte worked as a nursing assistant at the Nebraska Veterans Home from 1962 to 1979. She then provided cleaning services for elderly clients until her retirement in 1987.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was active in various circles in the church. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, the Eagle's Auxiliary and the retired teachers association. Charlotte enjoyed sewing, painting and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest Schroeder; two brothers, Benton and Charles Dubbs; and five sisters, Mary Bott, Neva Braumbaugh, Evelyn Smith, Luetta Codner and Vera Hanousek.
