Robert B. Boerckel, 80, of Peoria died Friday, May 14, 2010, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born Dec. 25, 1929, in Peoria, a son of Albert F. and Lucille M. Carey Boerckel, he married Lael E. Haggerty on Sept. 3, 1955, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, the Rev. Robert "Scott" (Carol) Boerckel of East Moline, Jim (Kathy) Boerckel of Zeeland, Mich., and the Rev. Dr. Ritch (Kimberly) Boerckel of Peoria; one daughter, Joy L. (Joe) Unseth of Dunlap; his brother, Al (Barbara) Boerckel of Morton.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly, and granddaughter, Jill.
Mr. Boerckel was employed as a compliance officer for River Valley Federal Savings Bank in Peoria for 15 years, retiring on Dec. 31, 1994.
He was an adult Sunday school teacher at Bethany Baptist Church in Peoria.
Burial will be in Brunswick Cemetery in Trivoli.
