Patrick J. Brennan was born into a farming family in Rhue, Tubbercurry, Co.Sligo. His parents were Patrick Brennan (1853-28 Sep 1915) and Ellen Frizzle (1861-17 Aug 1935). His siblings were Margaret Brennan Walsh Carros, (1890-1976), Mary Anne Brennan DeVito, (1885-1941), John Joseph Brennan (1888-1962) and James Patrick Brennan, (1886-1968). Patrick married Nora Brennan, (c1893-1 Nov 1972), a daughter of a farmer, James Brennan and his wife, Catherine Owens, from Ballincurry, Co. Sligo in Curry RC Church on 3 Feb 1923. The witnesses to the marriage were Martin and Annie Brennan and the celebrant was Fr. MK Connell CC. Patrick and Nora farmed a small holding at Rhue, Tubbercurry for the rest of their lives. In 1926 they took in and reared 3 of the 4 children of Patrick's sister, Margaret Walsh, who'd emigrated to the USA following the death from heart disease of her husband. Margaret's remaining child was reared by Patrick's brother, James Brennan of Carrowreagh Cooper, Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo. Patrick and Nora are buried with his parents Pat and Ellen Brennan in St. Attracta's Cemetery, Rhue, Tubbercurry.
