United Methodist Home. He has been in failing health since July and was admitted to the nursing home a month ago. He was bom at Cress Station, Washington Township, Oct 25, 1904, son of the late J. Henry and Katie (Jacobs) Baer. His early life was lived at the family home where he and his brother, the late Raymond Baer, operated Baer Brothers' Mill as a partnership until 1939. In 1939, he purchased the Anson Good and Son coal business and in 1947 started the Baer Fuel Oil business. He sold the coal business in 1951 and continued to operate the fuel oil company until his retirement in 1960, when the business was sold to Norman Peiffer. He and Mrs. Baer were married in September, 1926, and had lived at the present residence for the past 16 years. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren.
In addition to his wife, Mrs. A .Evelyne (Shockey) Baer, he is survived by a son, J. Robert
Baer, Amsterdam Road, two grandchildren, and two sisters: Mrs. Maurice McClain, Old
Route 16, and Mrs. Arthur Rinehart, Wayne Heights.
The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Grove Funeral Home, in charge of the
Rev. Guy R Buch. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
