Orpha R. Barber was born September 17, 1877, at Marian, Illinois. Her death was in the Sacred Heart hospital in Lamar, Colo., on April 5 at age 84. She was married July 27, 1904 to Alvert N. Barber in Comanche county, Kansas. To this union eight children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband and an infant daughter. Survivors include two brothers; Jesse J. Edmonston of Protection, Kans., and Orville Edmonston of Green Bay, Wisc.; one sister, Mrs. Grace Lawrence, Iola, Kansas; three sons, Ralph of Goodland, Ks.; Royce of El Dorado, Kans,. And Wesley of Brandon, Colo,; four daughters; Mrs. Edith Hubbard, Lakin, Kansas; Mrs. Neva Nunn of Mitchell, Nebr.; Mrs. Violet Haug, Wichita, Kans,; Mrs. Zelma Rust, Lamar, Colo.; 26 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
