He was preceded in death by a son, John L. Kinton, who was killed in Vietnam; a sister, Florence Covington; and two brothers, Earl and Elton Kinton.
He is survived by his sons, Thomas L. Kinton Jr. of Richmond and Richard D. Kinton of Alpharetta, Ga.; sisters, Hester Jones, Jean Shiflett and Joan Kennedy; three grandchildren, Catherine McCann, John C. Kinton and Christian Kinton; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte. 10). A graveside service will take place Tuesday, July 10 at 10 a.m. in Second Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, 12217 Second Branch Rd., Chesterfield, Va. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4600 Cox Road, Glen Allen, Va. 23060.
