Elizabeth Wilcoxson Mathers, age 95, died Thursday, April 12, 2007, at Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home, in Carlisle, Kentucky. She was born April 20, 1911, in Nicholas County, Kentucky, to the late Grant and Rebecca Herndon Wilcoxson. She was a member of Marie Chapter O.E.S. and the Carlisle Christian Church, where she was a member of the Twilight Council.

She was also preceded in death by: her husbands, Charlton McFarland and Marion Mathers; a son, Robert C. McFarland; and two grandchildren, Robert Charlton and Ann Charlton McFarland. Survivors include: two grandchildren, Daryl McFarland, of Lexington, and Amy McFarland (Jeff) Hamilton, of Carlisle; a step-son, Taylor (Eula) Mathers, of Carlisle; a daughter-in-law, Faye McFarland, of Carlisle; three great-grandchildren, Ashley Ann McFarland, Morgan Elizabeth and Jeffrey Tyler Hamilton; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Steve Smith. Burial will follow in Carlisle Cemetery. Visitation will be form 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions are suggested to Carlisle Christian Church.
