JOHN ANEY
John Aney, aged 77, of Hartwick Seminary, died Sunday, November 17, at his home.
He was born in the Town of Middlefield on January 25, 1887, the son of George and Isabelle (Scott) Aney. He married Velma Sibley, who died in September 17, 1942. He later married Annabel Mumford who died October 31, 1962. He had lived in Hartwick
Seminary since 1928.
He was a member of the Church of Christ Scientist, in Cooperstown and a former member of the Hartwick Seminary Grange. He was an assessor for the Town of Hartwick for more than 25 years, was a committeeman of the Extension Service for 30 years and committeeman for the Farm Bureau for 25 years.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Shaw of Niagara Falls; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, from the Tillapaugh Funeral Home in Cooperstown. Burial will be in Maryland Cemetery.
