Funeral services for Mr. Colyar Lloyd Barnes, age 95 of the Howell Community conducted at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Todd Gaskill officiating. Burial in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Barnes died Monday in St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.

He was a native of Lincoln County and was the son of the late Theo and Mary Lloyd Barnes.

Mr. Barnes was a farmer in the Howell Community most of his life, and was a long time member of the Howell Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he had served as elder and treasurer of the church for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Anderson Barnes of the Howell Community, two sons, Philip and Wayne Barnes of the Howell Community, one daughter, Sara Goode of Fayetteville, one brother, Teddy Barnes of Kelso, step-daughter, Mary Alice Spain of Cookeville, TN, two step-sons, Tom Anderson of Nashville, TN and Earl Anderson of Ripley, TN, 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lela Bryant Barnes, brothers, Philip and Chester Barnes, sisters, Wynettka Ellis, Jewell Thomas and Lorene Russell and a daughter Dorothy Barnes Smith.
