Pvt. Hugh R. Allen Jr., 23, husband of Mrs. Dorothy Staples Allen, 322 Bonaview Ave., and son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Allen, 536 B1oadway, was killed in action with the First Army in Germany Mar. 15, his family has been notified. An infantryman, he had been overseas one month.

Pvt. Allen was employed by the Norden Co. and Remington Rand Inc., before entering the service last September. He attended School 9 and graduated from Southside High School. He was a well-known local baseball player. He leaves a daughter, Carol Ann, three years, and a son,
Robert Francis, seven months.
