2nd wife of John R. O'Neale. She was first the wife of John G. Cooke who died sometime before 1858 and mother to all his children. This is why she is buried in the Cook Cemetery. Throughout her life, she was known to her grandchildren as "Granny Cooke." Her grandson John Albert Johnson, related to his grandson that his father was Chapman Johnson whose mother was Adaline Cooke who married William Johnson. Further investigation by this same grandson and his daughter, discovered in the marriage certificate for Adaline and her first husband, that William Johnson was her father. Court records regarding the petition of James Johnson, nephew of this William Johnson, against the heirs of Benjamin Johnson, Jr, revealed the name of Chapman Johnson as one of the minor children.
