Age 94, son of the late Max and Caroline Schoenfeld Loeb. He was a revered physician and third generation Erieite, who practiced in Erie for 56 years. He was a graduate of Central High School in 1927 and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1931, and a Medical Degree in 1934, both from the University of Pittsburgh. He returned to Erie for his internship at St. Vincent Hospital 1934 to 1935 and practiced general medicine in Erie from 1935 until his enlistment in 1942. He received his commission at the Army Air Force Officers Training School in Miami, Fla. in October, 1942. In Europe he served as a Captain in service at the 203rd General Hospital in Garche, near Paris. He ended his service as Chief of Medicine at England General Hospital in Atlantic City, N.J. , August 10, 1946. He returned to Erie, where he devotedly served the population of Erie as an internist until his retirement May 15, 1991 at the age of 80. Dr. Loeb was a vital member of the Erie Medical Community. He was a long time member of Temple Anshe Hesed, where his grandfather Solomon Loeb had been president of the Congregation for several years between 1879 and 1892.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother William Loeb.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Margaret Lavine Loeb; two sons Dr. John M. Loeb (Dr. Penny Loeb) of the San Francisco Bay area; Atty. Robert Loeb (Roberta) of Denver, CO ; and 5 grandchildren.
