George Tolliver Cook, 64, died Wednesday, July 13, 2005, at Goshen General Hospital in Goshen, Ind. He was born Sept. 7, 1940, in Guntown to Fred and Mary Cook. He was a firefighter for the Tupelo Fire Department for 20 years before retiring. After retiring he worked at North Mississippi Medical Center as a transporter and ambassador. He was a member of the National Guard for nine years.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Waters Funeral Home in Baldwyn. Burial will be in Prentiss Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be held in Goshen, Ind., at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Lou Cook of Goshen, Ind.; two sons, George Gregory Cook of New Albany and Robert Barry Cook of Tupelo; three stepchildren, Deborah Lange-Kuitse of Goshen, Ind., David Lange of Chicago and Dora Lange-Madsen of Granger, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; two brothers, Fred Thomas Cook of Tupelo and Joseph S. Cook of New Albany; two sisters, Juanita Ryder of Baldwyn and Sarah Cook of Moss Point.
