OBIT 1:

John J. Suver, one of the pioneers of Kittitas Valley died at his home in the west part of this city, Monday, August 5th at 6 o'clock a.m., after a lingering illness of six weeks. The funeral will be held from St. Andrews Church, Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. He was 55 years old.

During Mr. Suver's long resident in this city he had always conducted himself as a gentleman and won the admiration and respect of a host of people. For some years he was associated in the livery stable business and also saloon business. For some years he was a bartender in Jack Lyon's Saloon, but for the past three years had devoted his time and attention to a ranch just west of this city. He was an honest, conscientious and upright man.

After an illness of almost three months John J. Suver died last Monday morning at his home a mile west of town. His friends had been very uneasy over the tenacity of the disease, typhoid fever, and his death was not entirely unexpected.

Mr. Suver was an Ellensburg pioneer and was widely known and respected. He was about 54 years old and leaves a wife and six children. The funeral was held at the Catholic Church this morning.
