The County Cemetery has been mistakenly identified by a few researchers as at Fairview Cemetery. Upon research and communication with a cemetery official, it is not found as a section at Fairview. This would also apply to the Paupers burials, which are surely at the County Farm, as there is no other venue mentioned as to place of burial. A handful of these deaths & burials might be at family cemeteries and in the case of African American burials,which may have been buried at Mt. Moriah, which is attached to Fairview with unmarked graves. However, the death certificates do not mention any other than than county or Paupers Cemeterties.
The cemetery at the county Farm in Woodburn was a fairly large cemetery where there are over 100 known burials thus far and would not have taken up as much as 1/2 an acre leaving plenty of space for the "County" & Pauper's" burials shown on death certificates. The County Cemetery was given on the death certificates for each of the ones listed on these pages. I have listed County Poor House, County Cemetery & Pauper's cemetery in three separate locations on Find A Grave and believe that they should be considered as one cemetery. A few of these burials have the County Cemetery shown as place of burial and they lived at the County Farm, making this a certainty. Unfortunately, the person who purchased the farm after it's closing, removed all headstones, engraved and simple fieldstones. Their location is unknown and NO evidence of a cemetery remains at that site. No known photographs of the cemetery have yet to be loccated.
