Lofton cemetery is located on what was once the Francis Lofton ranch in
the town of Erle. Erle ceased to exist when Camp Beale (now Beale Air
Force Base) was built. This cemetery is included in Wheatland Cemetery
District, but is not included in their maintenance. A memorial stone at the entrance reads:
