Mulkey Cemetery was established in 1859 by early settlers whose purpose it was "to preserve and cherish the memories of our pioneer dead and those who follow them in the building up of this state."The cemetery covers 2 acres on a hilltop. The cemetery is still active and most headstones are in good condition, or have been repaired.Tami Dingle Keller, Former Administrator of the cemetery, has completed an in-depth inventory by spending months in the cemetery reading every stone and going through records at local funeral homes to locate names of those buried in unmarked graves.
