Sign at old entrance on Range Line Road to Forest Park Cemetery in Joplin, Mo. This entrance is no longer used. Some old death certificates from as early as 1911 list Forest Park as the place of burial.

Baptist Cemetery is now a part of Forest Park Cemetery at Joplin and now all of it is called Forest Park. Old death certificates list burials at Baptist Cemetery. Baptist Cemetery is located along the north fence and behind the stores at the northeast corner of Forest Park Cemetery. There are many burials here that are unmarked and no record exists in Forest park records. This picture shows sections 2 and 4 of Forest Park. Section 1 is located north of the road in the far distance and Baptist is part of this section.

There are a few deaths listed in the death certificates as being buried at "Shoal Creek Cemetery." At least one of these is listed in the Forest Park records also. The church was first known as Shoal Creek Baptist Church.

A deer visits Forest Park Cemetery even though this cemetery is surrounded with businesses and residences.
