This cemetery was part of a survey project conducted by volunteers with KYGenWeb Project, a Floyd County, KY genealogical group. It was spearheaded by Kathy Hamilton. Until her death in 2012, she, along with volunteers, researched and gathered information on Floyd County. Many families submitted detailed lists of their family cemeteries. Additionally, volunteers searched the hills to find old cemeteries, in hopes of documenting the rich history of the area. Unfortunately, sometimes, as is the case with this cemetery, exact locations were never given. However, we are fortunate to have the information. There are times cemeteries are the only record of the past. As little as a fifty years ago records were often lost or left incomplete, leaving only family records and cemeteries to provide the missing links.
