Lytle-Trimble Family Cemetery
Medina County, Texas, USA
LOCATION: The Lytle-Trimble Family Cemetery is located on private property on the east side of Interstate 35, 1.5 miles south of Lytle, Texas.
The cemetery was a family burial ground on the Trimble place. Tradition indicates that the first burial was that of Edwin Trimble who died in 1869 as a result of a copperhead snake bite. The last recorded burial was that of William Lytle in 1891. In the early 1920's, lighting struck the old oak tree in the center of the cemetery, shattering it and knocking most of the tombstones flat on the ground. Only parts of four headstones are visible today. The others have either been covered by blowing sand or have been removed for whatever purpose.
