Recorded by G. H. Richardson in 1870. He gives the exact location as "Dyre's Farm, late Robert L. Maitlands." Staff at the Newport Historical Society believe this property was located roughly where the Naval Hospital was built opposite Coaster's Island. Richardson describes the moving of the graves as a consequence of development: "These stones were removed to the ____ lot in the Old Ground [Common Burial Ground] Oct. 25, 1889, the farm then being cut up into house lots and the burial ground left in the street."
