REMOVED TO SK043
This cemetery no longer exists in its original location as it was removed to Section N of Riverside Cemetery (SK043). The original location (across from the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Sweet Fern Lane) we know from James N. Arnold's transcript in 1880. Arnold visited on Nov. 28, 1880, his #262: "At Rocky Brook southeast from the railroad lot fenced." The original cemetery had nine burials with eight inscribed stones and one fieldstone in 1880. These eight names are now on a marble monument along with those of five other relatives who died after 1880. Since we do not know when this cemetery was moved, we do not know whether any the additional five people were originally buried there. The stones from this lot tell a particularly poignant tale of the loss of four children within one terrible month. Identified, registered, and recorded by John Sterling & James Wheaton for a 2004 book on South Kingstown cemeteries.
