Mount Olive Baptist Church existed at least from 1839 to 1875. The church is now long gone, and the cemetery has been destroyed (prior to 1980.

The few remaining markers had been pushed by a bulldozer against a fence. Nineteen (19) of the stones have been READ. It is feared they too, may soon be gone. Some of the people buried here were Fayette & Haywood Countians and their connections. This information dated 1980. The info on those interred only survive in the Haywood County Library (The exact spot of this cemetery, before destruction, is unknown)
