Add PhotosMiss Hannah Hyatt, the youngest of the ten children of Benjamin C. and Agnes Hyatt, had inherited both the 80 acre farm and home after the death of her parents. In November 1894, she graciously donated the property for use of a home for orphan children. She signed over the deed on July 22nd 1895 to start the home; which was formally incorporated on February 5th 1896. For the first couple of years, Hannah along with her future husband, Stephen E. Gardiner were the head matrons & supervisors at the orphanage.
Today, the cemetery is maintained, as part of the property where the Bottoms Baptist Orphanage, more familiarly known as the Arkansas Baptist Home for Children, still cares for children in need.
