"What they made as their first family burial grounds, known as Braddock Cemetery, is located to the west of the original Braddock home foundation, a quarter mile up the hill where you can see all around section 1 of Morris Township for some distance. This cemetery is on private property and was very difficult to find as it appeared to be just the foundation of an old building standing on a hill in the middle of a remote corn field with only trees, briers, and weeds growing from it, no tombstones standing or showing through the overgrowth. The squared & leveled four foot concrete brick walls that once stood to protect the cemetery have now fallen mostly outwards, some inwards of the perimeter and I suspect that some tombstones could have been buried judging by the erratic spacing between main tombstones in the row. I think the exact location means more then we know and the bricks age appears to have been laid well after the cemetery had it's first burial in 1832, although it would initially appear that the burials were made within the solid, level foundation of a preexisting building. Regardless of the age of the walls, why the four-foot front wall is so close to the row of headstones as to obscure the view of the row is a big question. Maybe the row originally face inwards which made viewing the inscriptions difficult due to lack of maintenance and the headstones were all turned to face outwards? Many aspects of this cemetery within a brick enclosure are a mystery to me with currently more questions then answers. TJD2014
