Lloyd Cemetery
Colfax, Whitman County, Washington, USA
From Colfax go West on Highway 26, (Walla Walla Highway). Turn Right onto Greenhollow Road, go approx 50 yards and turn left. You will be driving behind the storage lot for Jones Implement. Follow the drive, it goes over a small drainage/creek. Lloyd Cemetery is on west bank of the creek.
I visited the cemetery today, 10/19/2014 with Robert Prater, whose mother was a Lloyd. Robert told me that not all the bodies were disinterred to the Colfax Cemetery. There is one marker still there, for Abner Lloyd. Abner is still interred at Lloyd Cemetery and has a cenotaph at the Colfax Cemetery.
It took us quite awhile to find Abner's marker as there were combine headers sitting right next to it, blocking it from view. If you walk west on the south side of the combine headers. Abner's marker is directly behind them, on the south end. There is a piece of re-bar sticking out of the ground that has a rose attached to it.
=====
There are 6 graves still here, the rest having been moved to the Colfax Cemetery by Carl J. Lloyd. The 6 remaining all died in the late 1800's.
Info supplied by the late Ms Ada G. Lloyd, who is buried in Colfax Cemetery.
