It is on the west side. This area was called the Knobs.THis cemetery was also called Knob Cemetery.
Facing the church, the cemetery is to the right, in the woods and down a slope. There are no marked graves. The only records to date are from family.
The original church was an offshoot of the Episcopalian Church in Abingdon. It was a mission designed to convert the Knobsters(people of the Knobs).
The church branch was organized in about 1888 as the earliest grave to date is about 1900. The members were mostly women and children.
This information was compiled by Minnie Virginia Elizabeth(Wright-Henry)Fern Mitchell. It was passed down to her grandson and kept for years, by Frank Edward Mitchell, of Bristol, Tennessee. Thank you cousin Ed for sharing this information and making this memorial possible.
On 2 Jun 2015 Ancestry has added Virginia death certs. I found family buried in The Knob Chapel Cemetery. I believe Knob & Free Zion are the same cemetery.
