" ...There are only four marked graves in the cemetery: Unnamed infant of John F. Baker dates unknown (far left grave); 2. Jincy Whitehurst Baker b. 24 Apr 1837 d. 1866 (to left of John F. Baker); John Franklin Baker b. 18 Feb 1827 d. 22 Mar 1877 (third in line); and Mary Baker b. 1792 d. 22 Dec 1858/1868(date was too worn to read back in 1997 - grave stands alone in front of other three). John F. Baker has two headstones; his original and a recently added new one that commemorates his military service.
It is not known if James Baker, Mary's husband, is buried there. A stone was never found for him, however it's highly suspected that he was laid to rest there. At one time Jincy's headstone was mistaken for James', but a picture taken years before my 1997 visit disproved it was James' grave.
The other two names... listed as being buried in Baker Hill Cemetery are unknown to me. There has never been any physical proof of their graves in the cemetery."
