Neal-Adams Family Cemetery
Ashland, Franklin County, Georgia, USA
The Neal Family is an interesting branch of my Carson family tree. I have been handed down oral and written information about this family since I was a child. Several years ago we purchased adjoining land to our property and became adjoining landowners to the Neal Cemetery property. I was granted permission, by the landowner, to walk onto his property and have since become the unofficial caretaker of the Neal-Adams Family Cemetery.
I enjoy relating to others that the late actress, Patricia Neal Dahl and her late children's book author-husband, Raold Dahl are related to me through this State of Virginia, USA, Neal family.
All of the Neal Family can be traced and verified through the Hebron Presbyterian Church book, "Hebron Presbyterian Church, God's Pilgrim People, 1796-1996". This book is readable free and may be downloaded free from "Google Books" by entering the above book title.
Specific information tracing William F. Neal and Elizabeth Gober Neal begins near the top of Page # 405 and continues through Page # 413.
This family cemetery is also documented on Page # 569 in the "History of Franklin County Georgia", researched, compiled and published in 1986 by the Franklin County Historical Society based at the Crow House in Carnesville, Georgia. A later publication of this history is available for purchase at the society's "Heritage Room" in Carnesville.
In this year, 2016 I will attempt to photograph clearer inscriptions on the memorial stones which are old and fragile.
