Louise Calhoun Barfield's history of Harris County, Georgia (1961), pp. 567-68, reports a Mount Olive Baptist Church and Cemetery in the Mulberry Grove community of Harris County (near Fortson, Georgia). The church was known first as the "Mulberry Grove Meeting House," and later, for a short time, "New Hope," before being named Mount Olive. The Mulberry Grove Meeting House is where the Columbus Baptist Association was organized.

The persons identified in Barfield as associated with this church and buried in its cemetery are evidently European-American; this is evidently not the same as the Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery located at 5434 Georgia Highway 315 in Fortson, the burials in which are prodominantly African-American.
