In 2008, Rhonda Stone located the Crosthwaite Cemetery in Boone County, Missouri. The day after she found it, Judy Crosswhite Stratton contacted Rhonda about the cemetery, they had never met before, but were both looking for it at the same time. Rhonda contacted Finger Lakes State Park in Boone County, Missouri and Judy contacted the State of Missouri and with the help of Tracy Butcher (Historian of Finger Lakes Park), Debbie Newbie (the superintendent at Finger Lakes Park) and Brant Vollman (Archeologist with the State of Missouri) reclaimed the Crosthwaite Cemetery. Rhonda paid $500.00 for the fence, sign and clearing of the cemetery. By June 1, 2009, the fencing was installed, paths were cleared and the park cleared the cemetery of brush and trees. In August of 2009, Rhonda, Judy & cousin Debbie Garcia visited the cemetery, we were all very pleased with what the park had done to maintain the cemetery. Since the reclamation the park has maintained the cemetery, and has kept the remaining stones inside the administration building. In addition, Judy provided the park with a bound copy about the history and lineage of the Crosthwait family. Judy & Debbie descend from Thomas Crosthwait b. 1766, he married 3 times, 1. Mary Stone; 2. Elizabeth Rogers; 3. Rachel Stone (Mary's younger sister), Thomas & Rachael's burials are in the Crosthwaite Cemetery. Rhonda descends from the Stone side of the family.
