GRAVE SIDE VIEW.
The cemetery lies on land donated for a burial ground by W.P.(Wash) Hawkins and Margaret L.Hawkins,who were granted a land patent here in 1881. Land was also set aside for a schoolhouse/church.
Burials were made here before Hawkins received his land patent, as the earliest dated headstone inscription shows. This stone marks the grave of Charles Johnson who died in 1866.
