East View Cemetery ("Garden of Memories") is a fairly large-sized cemetery with many large trees, located among houses and behind a large brick elementary school.

The cemetery has been operating since the early 1900's, with some burials on the land (i.e. with older gravemarkers) earlier than that. The person formerly in charge of maintaining the burial records and ledger books kept them up from 1935-1943, and then when her husband, the cemetery superintendent, died, she stopped recording and many burials were never recorded. There are untold numbers of unmarked graves here.

In recent years efforts have been made to transcribe and record all of the gravemarkers in an attempt to recover some of the cemetery's population, but nothing can be done to recover information on the unmarked graves unless relatives step forward.

Although no new plots are being sold, people are still burying their family members there today. The grass is cut monthly from March through October and the cemetery is well-maintained.
