Hepzibah Cemetery is located in west-central Henderson Co. three miles south of the junction of Highway 20 with Sand Ridge Road. It is situated 5 tenths of a mile behind a brick house on the east side of Sand Ridge Road. The driveway to the house comes to a 'Y' at Sand Ridge Rd. Formerly the location of the white Hepzibah Missionary Baptist Church and burial ground, which was one of the oldest cemeteries in the county. The church burned in the early part of the 1940's. A major local road once passed this cemetery. Black Folks with ties to this area and some of the White settlers are also buried here. The cemetery is overgrown with vines and fallen trees. It is likely that the Colored Folks graves are located on the south east side of this fenced-in cemetery. The name 'Hepzibah' was often pronounced 'Epseby' by the locals. A few of the Black Folks buried here are: Henry Diffee, M. H. Diffee & Euija Talbert.
