Daniel Lee Yancy, age 68, of Poseyville, passed away Friday, February 12, 2016 at his home surrounded by family.

Dan was born July 11, 1947 in Evansville to the late General Lee and Mary (Wallace) Yancy. He was a member of Berean Bible Church and worked for Kendall Oil Co., JR Short Milling Co. and at the Posey County Highway Garage. Dan enjoyed playing poker, camping and fishing, but most of all he loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1965 to 1968.

Surviving Dan are his wife of 35 years, Jackie (Sawyer) Yancy; two daughters, Janet (Brian) Wirth of Ft. Branch, IN and Kelli (Timmy) Dunn of Evansville; two sons, James Yancy of Griffin, IN and Scott (Charlotte) Yancy of Princeton, IN; a sister, Mary (Carl) Holder of Rockford, IL; brother, Wiley (Belinda) Yancy of Griffin, IN; fourteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed and Bill Yancy.

There will be a memorial service held at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, February 15, 2016 at Pierre Funeral Home, Pastor Sam Yancy officiating.

Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 P.M. until service time on Monday at Pierre Funeral Home,
