Rev. Gregory Charles Gatewood, 67, of Louisville, Kentucky departed this life on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at the Norton Women & Children's Hospital in Louisville. Born on December 30, 1954 in Rogersville, Tennessee, Gregory was the son of the late Dewey Gatewood & Mattie Smith.

He attended the Boyce Bible College, A Division of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary where he obtained a Diploma in Christian Ministry. He was the former Senior Pastor of the Maranatha Baptist Church in East Peoria, Illinois and member of the Highview Baptist Church, where he was an active devoted Bible Study Teacher. He was there for anyone who needed help, counseling those who needed help, no matter the need. He was also active in the tele ministry, where he ministered to those who were homebound. He was loved by all, Gregory lived a full life, a life well lived!

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dewey & Mattie Gatewood.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Peggy Gatewood; children, Jeremy Gatewood, Brian Gatewood, Terri Schisler, Jody Turner & Ray Gatewood; 15 – grandchildren; sister, Gwen Newton of Tennessee; plus, a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Cremation was chosen, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
