August 5 1914 Trainwreck

A Missouri and North Arkansas motor car collided with a Kansas City Southern train south of Joplin, Missouri (Tipton Ford), killing forty-two people. The two railroads split the responsibility for compensating the families involved. Although the trainwreck occured on Aug 5th, a lot of the death certificates lists their death as Aug 6th. That would be the reason for the different death dates.
