Oak Grove

Oak Grove Cemetery established in 1850, is one of those places you can spend hours walking through and never see the whole site in one visit. Oak Grove has been divided into "named-sections". There is a map available at the office. Parts of Oak Grove is well maintained, but sadly, there are several sections have been victim to vandalism and tree damage. Visiting Oak Grove is something to appreciate, the winding lanes, large lovely old trees, a small creek and Victorian and Gothic style mausoleums, along with paying respects to many local historical legends & hero's. Including, but definitely not limited to: The G.A.R. Soldier's Circle Memorial, the Old Graveyard, Colonel Crawford, Hiram Perkins, the Minelli's, the Children's Home Memorial, Moses Byxbe, President Frank B. Willis, Elam Vining, F. P. Vergon, Wayne "Curly" Smart, Frederick Merrick.
