United Kingdom Book of Remembrance

The United Kingdom Book of Remembrance, a virtual and temporary cemetery maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, commemorates United Kingdom casualties of the two World Wars who were not formerly recorded by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. They are all recent additions to the official list of war dead and their grave sites are known but for a variety of reasons, these details are not made public until the grave has been inspected-a process which can take up to three years. The men and women remembered on it are presently commemorated solely by their database and register entry while The Commission investigates the grave location details. As at July 18th 2014, the list comprises some 168 names.
