Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Eastover, South Carolina began to have service in 1876. The first church was bulit on a one acre plot of land. Frank Gunter was the first pastor of the the church for three years. In 1880 the church burned and in 1881 a new church was built. the church/cemetery is located in Eastover, South Carolina near Hwy. #26.
