Imber "Incident", Salisbury Plain 13th April 1942

On Monday 13th April 1942 an exercise took place at Imber on Salisbury Plain involving aircraft firing on dummy tanks and vehicles. 25 military observers were killed when one pilot mistook the observers for dummies and fired on them.
