My parents, George and Anna Mergler rarely talked about the Mergler or Schupp family heritage, so I had little knowledge of my genealogy. I now am on a quest to not only identify past relatives but also learn as much as possible about their lives beyond just names, births and deaths.

I am also developing this family genealogy for my own children so that they have an appreciation for those relatives that came before us.

Currently my family tree apex is with my Great-Grandfather, Bartholomew Mergler.
