Bio

I'm looking for any records concerning my grandmother, Ethel Alma Terrell Thompson. Her Dad spent quite a bit of time in the Longcliff hospital in Logansport, until his death on May 13, 1900. Her mother had died two years earlier in 1898 from tuberculosis. This left three children with no parents, one of which was my grandmother, Ethel Alma Terrel. She was 8 at the time her Dad died. The oldest son who was eleven was taken in by a farmer as he worked on the farm after school. The nine year old son, Ora, and eight year old daughter, Ethel, were wards of the court. Ethel later married my grandfather in 1913 and had two sons. One of which was my Dad, Wayne Terrel Thompson. Ethel gave him her maiden name as his middle name. The story goes that Ethel packed up her things one day and left while her two sons were at school. She was never seen again. My father died when I was 8, but I can remember him looking for her. I remember a time that we prayed about it. I want to find out who was in her support group during the early 1900's when her dad died, so I know where she might have return when she packed up and left sometime between 1921 and 1930. I would like to also find her grave as to fulfill my Dad's prayers. I would like to take a wreath if possible.
