Bio

I am a native of Greenville, Mississippi, and reside in Woodville, Mississippi. I am a historian by education and an amateur genealogist through curiosity. I spend my free time researching my ancestors, correcting erroneous information when I find it, and going out and about to photograph and document the condition of rural cemeteries, especially plantation and ghost town cemeteries.
I graduated from Northwest Rankin High School in Brandon, Mississippi, and served in the United States Army as a logistics specialist, from 2003 to 2014. Also, I am a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). Additionally, I served three non-consecutive tours in South Korea.
I donated my professional and private papers, correspondence, memorabilia, and other sundries to the McCain Library at the University of Southern Mississippi. My collection centers around a gay man from Mississippi who served during the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" era. I believe it is necessary to tell the story of military life from an ordinary enlisted soldier so that all people can understand the complexities of military life. My story is just a slice of that byzantine complexity.
