I live in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, USA, and I began researching my family history in 2016. My northeastern U.S. surnames of interest are Ham, Murch, Mayo, and Jackson. My upper Midwest and west coast surnames of interest are Bailey, Dufur, Lucas and Snyder. Words cannot express how thrilled I've been to see memorials and headstone photos of my ancestors, especially when those photos have solved mysteries and confirmed stories. I have begun to travel to ancestral sites to see the places my people lived, and of course, to honor their graves. This work is invaluable, and I'm so grateful for the time and thoughtfulness of all the FAG volunteers. Now in my 60s, I've recently retired and I look forward to contributing more to FindAGrave.
