I began doing research on my family histories when I lived in Washington, DC and had access to the National Archives and Library of Congress (35 years ago). Now I have more time to dig deeper. Most of my family tree is Jewish, but there is a small Catholic branch that I have traced back to the early 17th century in France. Most of my family came to America prior to WWI and settled in Louisiana and Georgia.
