Peter Schulze was born 6th August, 1958 at Hindmarsh, South Australia. His parents are Leonard Maxwell Schulze (Memorial 158783136) and Olive Joan Schulze (Nee Haygarth - memorial 158783135). He has a brother Geoffrey John Schulze (b.1947) and sister Rosemary Ann Cornock (b.1949).

Peter was schooled at Allenby Gardens and Croydon, before entering the S.A. Police Academy, Fort Largs in 1975. He graduated as a Probationary Constable, first posted to C.1 Div, Port Adelaide. Peter served the community for over 40 years, performing mostly traffic policing roles, and retired in 2015 at the rank of Sergeant.

Peter was married to Erica Grainger in 1982 together having two son's Karl (b.1983) and Mark (b.1986). Sadly, their marriage ended and some years later Peter married Karen Baker in 1988. Together the couple had a son William (b.1988) and daughter Emily (b.1990).

Peter was elected to local government in 2003, serving his community in the south suburbs of Adelaide for over 15 years as an elected member for the City of Onkaparinga. In his four terms on Council, Peter was twice deputy Mayor (2011-12; 2012-13).

Peter and Karen presently live in the CBD of Adelaide.
